Not having my own internet access, I am rarely able to post. At times I take my laptop to a location that has wifi, but I’m not really comfortable with exposing my computer to unsecured wifi. Today, I am able to be on a secure network! YAY! Hence, this quick post.
The house continues to be a work in progress. I began working on it May 1, 2012 and now it’s been a bit over a year. We ended up gutting the interior and now I’m finally up to taping and floating all the new sheetrock. As soon as we get the texture on and the kitchen in, I plan to move in!! Another YAY!!! We have been blessed by our church family by their provision of a place to live for the past few years, and many of the men and ladies of the church have worked above and beyond the call of duty on my crazy house. What a wonderful family!
As I’m working on the house, I am also planting fruit trees and trying to get the property in order. The very back of the yard is a jungle. I can’t seem to keep it in line. It doesn’t help that there is an abundance of poison ivy! Finding out that I am now reactive to the crazy plant has been one maddeningly, itchy revelation! The weed trimmer slings particles everywhere…mostly on my skin, it seems. Actually, at first, I thought I had gotten into redbugs, or as some call them, chiggers. So here I was, using the old treatment of painting nail polish on each spot. Boy, that not a good idea! Not having medical insurance, I mainly used anti itch cream and waited for it to go away. I think I really need a Tyvek suit for working in the yard! My best friend, my son and my ex-husband all got into it too, and they had severe reactions. Luckily for them, they all had insurance and were able to get steroid shots and steroid blister packs.
Well, I guess that’s all for now. Hope you all are doing great! Take care and may God bless you all.
Until next time.
